I wish June could stay forever

Well, here goes my greatest month ever.

After I vowed not to play on Full Tilt for a while, I decided to donk off the rest of my BR in some higher buyins...what happened next is my greatest run ever, as I won my next three SNGs (at higher buy-ins than I usually play), which almost total my winnings for the month.

Right now, I am up very little on Stars (played early in the month) and concentrated on Full Tilt where I am up about $145 for the month now, which is $90 more than my previous monthly record. Funny how it goes.

Right now I am thinking of switching back to Stars for a little while as I suffered two sick beats in consecutive MTTs on Full Tilt.
First, I had JJ on a 532 board and he called with A3 only to river an Ace for two pairs.
Then I shoved AdKd preflop and he calls with AcKc and gets his flush......just sick.

Anyways, I will concentrate on $5 BIs at the moment and I will also try to increase my OPR% on my Stars account, which is less than stellar LOL. I have a 90% rankings on Full Tilt with about 75% on PokerStars I think.

And last but not least, congratulations to Scotty Nguyen for winning the $50K HORSE event for his fifth bracelet. I was really rooting for Negreanu in the later stages, unfortunately he flamed out. But it's all good, baby!

8th in $3 MTT this morning

I mean, how far do we have to go to finally see the big bucks?
I registered along with 120 other players for the $3 MTT on Full Tilt and managed to climb among the leaders in mid-tourney. Thanks in no small parts to AA and KK that held up against shorter stacks' shoves.

After going as high as 9k in chips (among the leaders) I then proceed to be COMPLETELY card dead. The blinds were escalating and everybody was raising preflop like they had a plane to catch.
Anyways, only 12 get paid and we were 13 left. I think I was sitting in 11th position when I finally get 99 in MP and shove (reluctantly). Chip leader instacalls (he calls with lots of things really) to show AK and the race was on.

Luckily I turned a 9 and he rivered an Ace.....I exhale as I am out of the danger zone with about 7k. The shortest stack soon busts and I reach the final table with about 4k inchips....Leaders probably have 30k at that point, with blinds at 500/1000.

What do I get for the first hand at the final table? And COINCIDENTALLY I find myself in the big bling....T3 offsuit!!! greaaatttt.
The next hand isn't much better in the small blind. So there you go, I was down 1500 already in the first two hands of the final table.

Thanks to the other short stack, he busts first and I bust not long after with JdTd vs AQ.

I am happy I made it his far, but it seems making the final table just isn't enough to warrant a big cash. Looks like next time I am going to aim for the top three spots. Tough task if cards don't cooperate.

Well, still got a $10 cash and some hopes up.

Lack of interesting stuff

Well I haven't played much in the last few days, just micro stakes on Full Tilt.

My latest SNG I finished second in the $1 45-man for $11. I had a sick rush where I came in the second short stack at the final table and picked up AA (three-way AIPF) and KcQc for the rivered King high straight flush draw in my first two hands, so those were great boosts.

From then on I was card dead and folded a lot of my stack, just staying patient.
heads-up we both went all in on the first hand with my K6 vs JJ on a 345 board and I busted. Sigh, there goes my chance to finally win this 45-man in a loooong time.

Pros keep winning bracelets at the WSOP it's nuts. I have no clue what's gotten into them lol.
One of my favorites, David Benyamine finally took the time to actually play a tournament well and won. Then there is Jesper Hougaard, the player who owned Jamie Gold at last year's Main Event.

Nice game + Super Dario

Had a nice $5 9-man game last night.
This player in particular 'arizcardsfan' was great, we chatted all game long and he was fun playing with. Congrats for making it heads-up with me, and sorry for the suckout ;)
Here are the notable hands:

- Early, a poor guy gets AA vs KK and the K on the flop short stacks him to 200. Instead of shoving ATC, he tightens up even more. Somehow he gets KK and shoves to get called by AK and get sucked out on again.

- Card dead for much of the start, I shove QQ vs JJ on 'arizcardsfan's raise and I double up to get some life.

- On a very scary board with 4 players in, I had position and it was checked around to the turn. I was planning on putting in a bet if it was checked to me, but 'arizcardsfan' bets and we fold, only for him to show us KcJc for the King high straight flush. lol nh.

- On the bubble at 100/200 (which is early for the bubble) we have one player who had been disconnected forever, or maybe just left. Anyways, he only had 600 behind compared to our 4000+ each. We could certainly all make it to the money just by waiting. However there is an action flop with a board like QcJx9c and I have AcQc.
This other guy bets and I shove back with top pair and the nut draw. He calls, which makes me cringe because he shows KT for the flopped straight and I hate myself for putting my tournament life at risk. Luckily the turn is Tc and I bust him right out of the money. Sick. But at least 'absent' guy is ITM. Congrats!

- Heads up I have a 2-1 chip advantage which I lose little by little. We both shoved with my K7 on a board of K3xx and he shows 33. I was disappointed because he was mostly a tight player and really I was beat there but it's hard to lay down top pair heads-up. I then fall to 2000 chips and he has about 12000.

- I then manage to limp with AcQc hoping for a raise and he does so shove-call and he has A8. I double up.

- I take back the chip lead, only to lose it again, and take it back. Keep in mind the HU started at the 100/200 level, and we ended it on the 300/600 level So that's almost 30mins. It did seem like a long time.
Finally he raises me to 1200 and I decide to shove A7o. He tells me "race?" I reply "sure, let's go".
He then calls with 22 (he calls them 'love ducks') and we are off.
Amazingly the board goes K969K and I take the $22 with Ace kicker, sick. It's incredible how he went from favorite in the hand to the ultimate dog, the most useless hand on a board like that.

On the WSOP side, the pros are doing it again!!!!
John Phan won a bracelet! The great story about it is at one point they both agreed to go all-in blind for the bracelet and they did haha. Phan won that and doubled up to the chip lead.
Dario Minieri also won a bracelet at the 6-max event! I know he takes a lot of heat from people because of his attitude and arrogance, but he really IS good. Just sharkscope him if you don't believe it. He is HYPER aggressive like you wouldn't believe. Anyways, he had the best suckout in the world when he shoved 3s4s vs KK and got runner-runner 4s to take back the lead heads-up. Wow.

Playing the board?

I was playing another $1 45-man this afternoon.
Got AA on the BTN and raised minimum, and the blinds called, creating a 500 chip pot.
Well I got the dream flop of 3A3 and it was checked around to the turn of 8 and river 8.
After they all checked, instead of a smallish bet that might look like a trap, I decide to overbet and bet the pot. I get a call from the SB and show him the goods.
I was just shocked when I looked at the hand history and saw that he was holding 22!
Playing the board eh? I guess my pot bet worked to perfection :)

Unfortunately, my good run in this tourney came to an end. I had three straight finishes of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and this time I went out in 8th, almost ITM. I am still happy to have made the final table though and had a great chip stack that was above average.

I busted the short stack with TT vs Ax. Then I raised a couple of hands (KQ) that missed the board completely. Then I picked up AQ in MP and raise 2.5xBB and get called by the CL.
Unfortunately the SB reraises to 2000, which I call and the CL folds, I have 5000 left behind, plenty enough.
The flop comes AKx and he bets half my stack. At this point I should have folded because his position and preflop action screamed at least AK. But I was surprised he didn't decide to trap.
Maybe he was playing QQ/JJ and wanted to resteal preflop.
So I reluctantly shoved and he showed AA. Wow... like I said, incredible that he bet the flop since he was the absolute favorite. But in any case he got all my chips. I guess he decided that I, at least, had an Ace or King to make the call preflop.

ACTION FLOP!!!

I guess JJ was a clear loser with the preflop reraise, but I thought he was trying to isolate with a hand like AK. Then the desired low flop came and my over pair and flush draw was too hard to lay down imo. Opinions?

Sad day!!!

Sigh....I feel like I want to cry.
Yesterday the Lakers got DEMOLISHED by the Celtics in Game 6. That was expected and promptly reminded me of the 2004 Finals where the Lakers (again favorites) lost to the densive-minded (that word again) Pistons. Oh well, next year should be better as L.A. should be the clear-cut favorite to reach the Finals and take it all. Andrew Bynum will be a great center, and will allow Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom to slide to their respective positions (power and small forward). That way Radmanovic can hit the bench and I will be happy.

And I am not a big fan of soccer either, but France got ousted from the Euro 2008 competition, so just a sad day all around. Although that didn't sting as much as the other loss.
I think Portugal or the Netherlands have to be favored now, especially the Netherlands since they literally KILLED the world champs (Italy) and the vice-world champs (France) on their way to the playoffs.

Poker wise, everything was cool, until the Lakers lost LOL.
In the past three days I finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th (see a trend?) in the $1 45-man I played.
This I think is a cool accomplishment, even though the fields are weak, butI am proud of it nonetheless. That amounts to a $18 run I think.

Then the Lakers lost and I played a $5 9-man last night and promptly lost in 6th hahaha.
I love limping with smallish pairs, and I did with 77 in the cutoff. We went maybe 4-handed to the flop and the flop was 863.
The BB bets I call, everyone folds. The turn is 5 and it gives me an open-ender and he bets half my stack, OUCH. He could have an 8 or even worse. I shoved anyways, hoping he had a 6 or my draw would save me but he turned up 63o and I bricked. I guess that will teach me not to raise preflop with a pair, or at least slow down when I miss my set after the flop and give respect to the blinds on a rag board. I make such rookie mistakes sometimes.

On the WSOP side, the pros are KILLING IT!
Now Phil 'OMGClayAiken' Galfond won the PLO+R event, just sick. I rail him sometimes at the 200/400 PLO games on Full Tilt and the guy is good.
Now, I see that Dario Minieri is the clear leader at the final table of the NLHE 6-max even. Just sicker! He is the most aggressive player I have ever seen, and when he has a big stack, he is not afraid to use it. I expect a dominating win or a dramatic fall with his style. But I kinda hope he wins.

I am the Chicken Master!

Crazy 45-man SNG.

I was cruising along fine with 7k in chips among the leaders and on the final table bubble.
Then this CRUSHING hand comes along.
I am dealt AA in SB but it's folded to me. I decided to limp and maybe create some action. The flop comes JKJ....He bets and I smooth call, knowing I most likely have the best of it.
Turn is the ugliest K ever! He best again and I call. River is irrelevant and he bets again an amounts that cries for a call, I reluctantly call and he show K6o.
Well, that will teach me to slow play Aces, since a raise preflop would have saved me some chips.
Anyways, I then limp to the final table as the shorter stack with 4k in chips.

From then on I proceed to fold every single hand as I am card dead.
The other short stacks double up and I am in danger of going out out of the money. i am sitting in 7th with only 6 getting paid.
Then the craziest thing happen. At 400/800 I am left with 1500 chips and I post the big blind! So that left me with only 600+ chips. There are 3 limpers in front and I look at a horrid Q8o.
Well, since the other short stacks are involvded in the hand (they still have a sizeable amount) I fold an pray for action. It doesn't come.

Then next turn I am sitting the SB and am dealt KK!!!!
Resurrection!?!?
Anyways, the other shorter stacks limp and I am in to win most of the pot. The board runs low with no action and I resurrect to 2k.
After more folding I shove the shorter stack with AQ vs rags and I take it down with a pair of queens. We are 5 left.

After a few more folds, there is action between 3 players, including the chip leader.
On a flop of 6dQdJc They all shove with QJ vs KT vs 22
The turn 9 gives KT a straight but the river J gives the chip leader the full house and the win! He busts two players at the same time, and I went from bubble contestant to a guaranteed 3rd place finish.
I only have 2BBs left and post the BB and auto-shove A7o vs T9o.
The flops two pairs and that is the end of it.

A great game that shows that it's never over.
I really suck because I chickened out so much (folding my BB at 400/800 with 600 left behind) but in the end it paid off. Luck means a lot sometimes.

Pros rule the WSOP

Just on the top of my head, the pros that have won a bracelet at the 2008 WSOP.

-Nenad Medic
-David Singer
-Erick Lindgren (also made another final table)
-Barry Greenstein (7-card Razz)
-Daniel Negreanu (also made a Shootout final table, and is at the final table of the PLO+R, siiick)
-Hinkel brothers (they are the first brothers to win bracelets in the same WSOP ever! Only one is a pro though)
-Mike Matusow (2-7 draw lowball)
-Kenny Tran (HU Championship, one of the most intimidating along with Ivey imo)
-Max Pescatori

The people that are noticeably absent from this list are Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth I think.

Btw, how freaking SICK is the final table of today's PLO with rebuys?
Daniel Negreanu, David Benyamine, Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Galfond, Brian Rast and John Juanda. And to think that Jesus himself just bubbled the final table...that is the scariest lineup I have ever seen at a WSOP table.

On my side of things, had a win this week-end for only $23. It feels good to win again.
In the first orbit I picked up KK and got in a raising war with two other players. The first one caved though when two of us shoved (he was in for 500 of his 1500 starting stack). I was up against AK and they help up to give me the chip lead early.

From then on I mised a couple of draws (got Aces twice during the SNG) but this time I could afford it (I don't mind shoving Ah3h with two hearts on board with the chip lead against a shorter stack, too bad he had trips and rivered a useless boat) so I didn't bust and call myself unlucky for once.
Although my biggest pot of the night (for the lead heads=up) I got an unexpected draw with Kh4h when I kept betting with a pair of fours and runner-runnered hearts to beat him.

Tough

Had a couple of heartbreaking hands lately.

Bubbled a final table when I couldn't fold the nut flush draw and pushed to get them out of the way. Two players folded, but the last one called with trips. I river my flush but the 6h also gave him quads. That pot was for the chip lead.

Then last night, I was card dead, and this is how my last two hands went.
- AK UTG, I raise big, and SS shoves for 300 and I call. He shows QT and flops a T to bring me down to 1k.
- Right after that I get KK in the BB. MP raises to 300 and I shove and get a call with his AK.
He flops an Ace and I am out.

Ultimately I think the moves I am making are +EV in the long run.
I am only down 2 BIs on Stars, but since I moved up stakes, it shows up a little more in the cashier window hahaha, that's not good for my mood.

They can't win

What a great week-end.
I only played 2 more SNGs ($5 9-man and $5 18-man) after my biggest cash ($10 18-man) from the other day and really wasn't expecting much.
Well it turns out I won both and I am up an astounding $115 in just three short SNGs, yay me for my hottest run ever.
I haven't been running all that hot on Stars and I am basically even for the month of June so far with about 20 SNGs.
What do you think guys? The Full Tilt banishment cleared my head and allowed me to play better? Or maybe Howard Lederer wants my business again and pushed the "running like god" button on my account?

Anyways, logged into a $5 18-man yesterday and just laid low for the couple of early orbits.
Sweated an all-in when this guy raised from the BB and I called the SB with another guy with AJ. The flop comes J high and we both shove while the button folds.
Turns out he hand AJ as well, whew.
After that I didn't win any hands for a while until I called a raise with 22 and we went three-handed to the flop, which was a great 552 rainbow.
For some reason the raiser shoved and I insta-call,....he shows AQ, gg.
I also flopped another set not so long after that with 77 to bust another guy.

My bubble play is horrible, I never take advantage of my stack, even though I was the chip leader for a little while.
It's just that the blinds are pretty big and I really fear the short stacks will play back at me by just shoving any decent hand.
My stack just dwindled from 6800 to 4500 before the bubble finally burst.
Then we were sitting with one short stack and three big stacks. I crippled this one guy preflop with AQ and get a QQx flop. The very next hand he shoves and I come over the top with 55.
Unfortunately the other short stack decides to shove as well and I get a very bad feeling....he shows JJ.
Guess what? Flop comes xx5 turn J river 5! Would it make any sense if I told you that somewhow I didn't sweat? Maybe it's because I didn't have time to, or maybe my big stack didn't worry me (still would have had 10k).

Right after that, my heads-up opponent says "wow, I can't win" LOL.
That was funny, but oh so true. Again, I picked up an opponent who wasn't really aggressive in position and allowed me to steal his blinds a few times.
We exchanged the chip lead back and forth, but this one stupid hand came up, my big blunder of the day.
With J4o and a board of QJ2 he raises me and I call. Turn 4, I finally have two pairs and I lick my chops in advances. River is another 2!
But somehow I didn't see it I was so in love with my two pairs!
Well, his raise on the flop turned out ugly, since he did have a Q for better two pairs and I was crippled with a 5 to 1 chip disadvantage.
What happens after that? I shove a few hands and double up a few times to take the lead from him in a short space of time.
Finally he shoves A3 and I decided that my live cards of 7d8d are probably good and I can afford it. We push, I river a 7, end game.

I guess he was right.

PokerStars made me wet myself

FINALLY, it's been a long time coming, but PokerStars has changed their lobby theme.
Actually, it's more like in addition to table themes, we now have lobby themes, a nice and welcome addition.
Truthfully it doesn't do much as far as usability, but I have always hated the older greenish-yellowish-orangey theme that's been there since the early days.
Hopefully that will attract the newer players/fish when they see this.

So far the new theme is only in Beta but you'd be stupid to think I won't use it anyway :).
It's heavily black (which I like) and on par with their new website color scheme.
Now please, make an awesome new table theme that comes with it and I'd be happiest...and I am sure that it is on its way.

As far as playing goes I haven't been able to take off this month on Stars. I am down just a little since last month but it's been evening out since.
Played this 70FPP just to give me some confidence (for 11T$ to the winner) and I lost in 3rd place. Too bad, since I had him with 66 vs KT and he rivered a K to bust me. If not for that hand, I would have been chip leader heads up with 10k vs 4k in chips.
What else can I do, except maybe win the flips!

THE BEST DAY EVER!!!

Wow, so many things happened today I'll make different entries

DAVID SINGER WINS HIS FIRST BRACELET IN POT-LIMIT HOLD'EM

Man, I am so happy he won. He was the only guy at that table that I was truly rooting for.
He's a excellent, low-key player who has scored big before, $1M in a Caesars event, then he won the inaugural $25K Championship HU event on Full Tilt Poker.
Great for him.

ERICK LINDGREN WINS HIS FIRST BRACELET IN MIXED HOLD'EM

Wow, I was rooting for the two finalists, Justin Bonomo (I respect him a lot since he rehabilitated his image after his cheating scandal) and Erick Lindgren.
Erick won and it's great to see one of the best in the game finally get his due.
The former WPT player of the year finally isn't gonna be a joke among his buddies Negreanu, Ivey and Cunningham.

I SCORED MY BIGGEST WIN YET

After I banished Full Tilt with all the bad beats I got I decided that I was gonna donk off the remaining $ I had on higher buy-ins SNGs or tourneys.
Well I entered a $10 18-man SNG. I don't really mean 'donk off' literaly, but at least try to take a shot if you know what I mean...some kind of bankroll I don't really give a damn about.

Well as you can guess I WON and that's a $76 positive, better than the 5th place $5 MTT I scored in my early days.
Here's a recap of the SNG. I think that overall I played great and got a suckout to end things, even though it is my belief that he got lucky too (you'll understand)

- I picked up pocket threes three times, and I bricked the first two times with overcards all over.
Finally, the third time was a charm, I got a flop of QQ3 for a boat.
Three-handed we all check the flop. With another heart on the turn the last guy bets and I fake a flush draw with a quick call. The river bricks, but I put in a medium sized bet to fake a steal (following the fake draw thinking) and I got a call and a raise. I shove for 500 more and they both fold.

- A short stack shoves KT and I wake up with JJ to bust him. That was a great boost.

- I have 77 and me and this guy see a flop of AQx all hearts. We both check.
Turn is another heart, he bets minimum. I sense a weak steal, but instead of raising right there I put in a floating bluff and just call (raising right there might be an obvious resteal).
I was gonna bluff if he checked the river, NO MATTER WHAT. He checks, I bet half the pot and he folds quickly. I pat my own back.

- I got two black Aces and this guy raises to 400 (100/200) UTG.
I quickly raise 1200 as we are six-handed but he folds. That was the one hand I was disappointed about and really think I misplayed. But I think I was really antsy because we were approaching the bubble and I didn't want him to see a flop, just shove pre. Obviously his hand wasn't that great.

- I get AA again and they hold up against a short stack's all-in.

- Finally ITM, a SS shoves J9 sooted and I insta-call with AJ.
He flops the flush draw and sweat big time but fortunately he bricks.

- Heads-up I flopped a couple of big hands and bluff quite frequently.
He was really tight and folded maybe 70% for my preflop raises on the button.
Finally he raised 2.5xBB in position and I called innocently with K5.
Fop comes 625 rainbow and he bets 1200.
Now since he is tight, I just KNOW he doesn't have it so I raise.
He ponders for a while and calls. Turn 8. I bet him enough to commit and he raises all-in and I call, a little worried.
Well oddly enough he showed J8 for turned top pair (I still don't understand his preflop raise and bet-call on the flop). Luckily for me I river another 5 for trips and this is the end of it.

Overall a very good day for me (also up a little on Stars).
Overall a good day for Full Tilt.

PS: I also had connection problems because of the rain, but I can't complain about that right now.

5th out of 45

Cashed in a 45-man SNG by finishing 5th.
I am still a little disappointed since at one point at the final table I was the chip leader and didn't take advantage of it.

I had a run of 3 hands where I went from a short stack to a big stack (KQ vs another short stack's Ax and I flopped a K) and felt lucky to be dealt those hands.
But from that moment I was card dead and my stack went from 14k to 9k just like that, I didn't even try to steal once.
Thing is, shorter stacks were around 4k at that point and could shove at any time so I thought it would be a little risky.

The bubble was very long, nobody wanted to make a move. At one point I even joked that I was happy to see what a flop looked like.
The biggest 'action' hand was when we saw AK vs TT vs 99.
Guess what? Flop K, river 9. Needless to say the TT guy wasn't very happy.

I did call an short stack's all-in with KQ vs QQ and lost that hand, which crippled me (see? short stacks can hurt). I shoved the next two hands and finally had As8d vs QsJs and he runner-runnered spades to bust me, cruel.
At least I am happy to have cashed and feel confident.

Say it ain't so

Weird.
In less than three days into the month of June, I have played just as many SNGs as I did in May (18 total).
While I was up $55 in May, I am dead even in June. Welll, that is until this stupid hand came up:

A win + funny hand

Finally got a win. Played well and got some playable hands.
This hand in particular against the chip leader was odd to say the least.
I knew he was extremely aggressive, re-raising this guy on my right lots of times. Basically I checked until the river to see him pop (which he did), not really concerned about draws, since with my stack I was going all the way no matter what falls.
But here's the hand (no we are NOT colluding :P)

PokerStars Game #17893539108: Tournament #90755704, $3.00+$0.40 Hold'em No Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2008/06/03 - 16:52:51 (ET)

roneewong: doesn't show hand
roneewong said, "LOL?"

Then we were both heads-up.
I flopped the nuts and tried to use his aggressivity once again.
My bet on the turn (with two pairs showing on the board) was used to fake a steal and it worked, since he called.
I then bet on the river an amount that he could comfortably raise me with if he wanted to steal.

Sick feeling

Been down a couple of buy-ins the last two days. Feels like I haven't cashed in ages.

I busted on so many bubbles it's sick.
Everytime the shorter stack doubles up, and I myself miss when I have to shove anything heads-up.
Just now, 97 vs 63, we both get a pair but he rivers trips. Just sick.
I am not saying that my play was great but it is a play I had to make and was ahead, and ultimately didn't win that hand.

I reloaded right after that and shoved with a straight flush draw over a big raise. He showed middle pair and top kicker and I bricked. Sick to go out first.

My weakness is really bubble play with a medium/short stack.
Or maybe it is more about getting lucky?
One cash here and there could have gotten me in the green but instead I'm down.

Oh wait, just now I bubbled another.
with stacks around 2000 and blinds at 300/600 I shove the BB from the SB with 44.
He calls me with QT (a little light are ya!?) and flops trips. GG

Time to reload!

Back in the business

The last two days have been really crappy for me.
I cashed in a SNG while my g/f was watching me play lol...obviously, somebody looking over my should does affect my play as I tend to shy away more from the action.
Ultimately a bad beat killed me three-handed when he rivered me after we both shoved the flop.
That would have given me the chip lead HU sigh.

Last night I 2-tabled $3 SNGs and failed to cash. I almost did in one, but I made the mistake of committing my chips with middle pair in a HU pot when he flopped top pair. The short stack had a little less than me but was fighting back.

Then this morning I lost two SNGs (45-man and 10-man) more where I was completely card dead!
Well that's not entirely true, I did pick up a few hands but missed for the most part.
I hate it when it happens, you're playing well but somehow the cards don't cooperate.

Instead of laying low for the rest of the day, I played a $3 18-man and was running really good this time. I was hitting the nuth flush draws and flopped top set with JJ vs his AJ.
I got lots of action and was chip leader for most of the tournament.
One thing that happens a lot is when we get ITM, I tend to sit back when I get a lot of chips and somebody else would take over and bust the other guys and take over the chip lead at the same time.

So were were heads up and he had a 5-to-3 lead on me.
Not to be undone, I started to trap a little more. Turns out he was three-betting me every time I had a hand and I would lay it down.
I would just limp with my big hands and hope to hit the flop which I did. I even took the lead from time and time and we were battling back and forth for a long time.

Unfortunately (and this is why I hate heads-up matches) we had to wait for big hands to get it all-in.
I was raising with KT vs KJ on the K-high flop and we both shoved. I brick the river but still have 4k to his 20k left.
We shove the next hand with 6d8d vs 88 and I brick to take only $16 for second place :(
I am kind of disappointed but well, that's poker.
I am, though, happy to report that my PS bankroll is at an all-time high with that win.

On a side note, I feel sorry for Andy Bloch, taking second place in the first WSOP even and missing his first bracelet yet again.
He came up short in 2006 when he came second to Chip Reese in the HORSE Championship event.
